A digital home for Rana families
The Rana Samaj is not one organisation. It is many regional societies that have grown up wherever Rana families settled, each running its own affairs. This platform gives them one address without taking away what makes each one theirs.
What the Samaj is
A Samaj is a community society. Ours run at every level: a village in Gujarat, a district, a city, a state chapter, a country. A family usually belongs to the smallest one near them, and to every one above it. That is why the directory is a tree rather than a list.
12 Samaj are listed across 3 countries, with 1 registered members. The directory also holds 202 places, down to the taluka, so a family can find the one they live in and claim it.
What this platform does
Three things, and deliberately not more.
- It keeps the directory: which societies exist, who runs them, and how to reach the committee.
- It carries what committees publish: their events and their announcements, to their own members.
- It runs Rana Matrimony, a matrimonial service where profiles are verified by the Samaj rather than by a company nobody knows.
What it does not do
It does not run any Samaj. A regional committee decides its own events, its own membership and its own affairs, and nothing here overrides them on their own region.
It has no chat, no messaging and no video. When two families decide to talk, they talk directly, on the telephone or in person, as they always have. The platform's job is to make the introduction honestly and then get out of the way.
It carries no advertising and sells nothing to anybody else. The matrimonial membership is the only money that changes hands.
Where it runs
India, the United States and the United Kingdom, because that is where the societies that asked for it are. Adding a country means adding its societies to the directory, not rebuilding anything.
