What claiming gets you

• Publish your own events and announcements to your members.
• Keep the committee list and the contact details on your page correct.
• Verify your own members for matrimony, rather than a stranger doing it.
• See how many families are registered with you and how many are waiting.

100 Samaj currently have no President. Verification requests from those regions go to the platform because there is nobody local to review them.

What a President cannot do

Worth knowing before you take it on, because the limits are the point.

• See or edit another Samaj's members, events or anything else.
• Read anybody's matrimonial profile, photographs or contact details.
• Take payments or issue refunds. Money never rests with a regional committee.
• Move a member to another region, which changes who reviews them.

Every action a President takes is recorded with their name.

How to do it

1. Check whether your Samaj is already in the directory. If it is not, tell us its name and where it is and we will add it.
2. Write to help@ranasamaj.org from an address the committee recognises, with the name of the person who should hold the seat.
3. That person registers as a member of the Samaj, if they have not already. A President has to be a member of the region they preside over.
4. We seat them, and they can add the rest of the committee themselves, each with only the access their role needs.

If there is a dispute

We will not adjudicate who should run a Samaj. Where more than one group claims a region, we hold the seat vacant until the society tells us in writing who holds it. Verification for that region continues at the platform in the meantime, so members are not stuck.
